The artist Monika Žaltauskaitė Grašienė Žaltė creates meaningful visual stories, touches on sensitive topics of the present, so this artist could be called a philosophizing master of computer jacquard technology, connecting textiles and media, creating installations. In her works, which are characterized by a conceptual approach to textiles, aesthetics and high quality of performance, a synthesis of traditional means of expression and modern performance technologies unfolds. The author’s works are often based on sensitive, careful observation and reflection of a person and his life processes. Her works have been presented in various galleries and museums around the world, same of them: Poland (Centralne Museum Wlokiennictwa w Lodzi), France (Bargoin Museum, Clermont Ferrand), Great Britain (Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, Saachi Gallery, London, Arnolfini Gallery, Bristol), Belgium (Kunsthal Extra City, Antwerp), Japan (Gallery-gallery, Kyoto), etc… The works have been purchased by private collectors in Lithuania and abroad, in 2022 National Art the museum acquired the cycle of works “Smiling”. The artist has received several local and international awards, some of them: at the Riga International Triennial, a silver medal for the work on the theme of emigration, the installation “Good Luck”. 2020 Contextile Biennial, Portugal 1st award for the installation “Network”, in 2022 she became the laureate of the LDS Gold Badge, Art Vilnius 2023, the author was awarded the best installation nomination for the work “Moon Sea”.
