ARTVILNIUS’17 FIRST TIME INVITES TO THE NIGHT AT THE GALLERY

On 8 – 11 June, the 8th International Contemporary Art Fair ArtVilnius’17 will be inviting visitors not only to meet hundreds of artists and dozens of galleries, but also to take part in a festivity in the city.
On Friday, 9 June, the organisers of the art fair will be inviting local residents and guests, and ArtVilnius’17 participants to join the Night at the Gallery taking place in selected Vilnius-based galleries.
“In addition to this year’s very extensive and interesting programme of the art fair, we would like city guests, visitors and participants of the art fair to discover even more facets of Vilnius. So on Friday night, after fair hours, we invite everybody to visit art galleries in the centre and Old Town of Vilnius which will be waiting for you with special programmes until 11 p.m.  This event will also be a perfect opportunity for the galleries to attract even more visitors and be discovered”, says Mrs. Diana Stomienė, directress of the art fair.
During the Night at the Gallery, the visitors will have the opportunity to meet artists and enjoy special programmes. Meno Niša gallery will present Konstantin Gaitanži’s painting exhibition Terramorphis, Rooster Gallery will invite to the exhibition of the finalists of the YICCA international art contest, and Terra Recognita gallery will be showing Saulius Vaitiekūnas’ exhibition Coast Memorial. In addition, Vilnius Graphic Art Centre’s gallery Kairė-Dešinė will invite visitors to see exhibitions by Augustas Bidlauskas and Joana Kairienė.
Also, new Ukrainian gallery TSEKH Vilnius will be showing Andrius Šarapov’s kinetic installation of generative music. Kristina Norvilaitė will invite to meet the Night at the Gallery at her own gallery in Užupis showing her solo exhibition Write Me a Letter. Pamėnkalnio Gallery will be inviting to see Kunigunda Dineikaitė’s solo exhibition Nostalgia for Picture open till 11 p.m.

The organisers of ArtVilnius’17 invite everybody to discover art at an unusual time, offering a unique opportunity to visit so many Vilnius-based galleries in one night.
