ARTVILNIUS’18 INVITES APPLICATIONS

December 20, 2017

Art Fair ArtVilnius’18, which attracts over 20 thousand art lovers each year, is kindly inviting galleries to submit their applications and book spaces in this international art event. The deadline for submissions is 28 January 2018.

The International Art Fair ArtVilnius’18 will take place on 7-10 June with a programme dedicated to the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuanian statehood. The main Art Fair’s focus will be on Baltic art. About 30,000 spectators from Lithuania and abroad are expected to visit the Art Fair this year.

“Commemoration of the 100th anniversary of independence is a remarkable and significant event for Lithuania, and we would like to mark this event with a special programme of ArtVilnius’18. It is for the first time when the best Baltic galleries, artists and art institutions will gather in one place. For this purpose we are actively cooperating with embassies, international cultural centres and businesses operating in Baltic countries. This is a really impressive event that awaits us”, – says Diana Stomienė, director of the Art Fair.

Lithuanians living and creating abroad have been also invited to cooperate in the Art Fair and present their works dedicated to the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Lithuania’s Independence. Participation in ArtVilnius’18 has already been approved by renowned art galleries, institutions and museums from Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
In the context of art fairs, ArtVilnius is outstanding for its architecture and volumes. It is for the ninth time when the art fair will be hosted by one of the best exposition spaces in Lithuania, the Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO. 12 thousand square metres available in Litexpo allows the architects of the Art Fair to come up with modern stand arrangement solutions and provide the participating galleries with large spaces covering 35-45 sq. metres.
“Our architects and graphic designers carefully weight each visual part of the art fair and screen every smallest detail. Although ArtVilnius could accommodate more galleries, we pursue quality and architectural completeness. Therefore, we invite only the best ones”, stresses Sonata Baliuckaitė, artistic director to ArtVilnius. Same as in previous years, about 600 international galleries will be selected to participate in ArtVilnius’18 and over 200 artists will be showcased from more than 20 countries of the world.
The programme of ArtVilnius’18 will continue the tradition of selecting the best galleries and artists. Large-scale exhibition of sculptures, installations and performances PATH (Takas), which enjoys great international attention every year, will be also in place. Educational programme and creative workshops will invite visitors of all ages to take part, attend lectures about art markets and Baltic arts, and participate in interactive discussions.
The deadline for submissions is 28 January 2018.
