Culture Never Drowns
EXHIBITION THE PATH | TAKAS
Materials: ceramic, synthetic rope, nylon belt, 1/1
The sculptural object Culture Never Drowns is a visual juxtaposition of an ancient period vessel amphora and a rescue float, an instrument used by rescuers, into one object. Considering the visual similarity of these seemingly different functional objects, and the fact that many of these artefacts -amphorae are found sunken at the bottom of the sea, it is the sculptor’s idea to transform this vase into an unsinkable rescue instrument, thus giving this historical art value a new visual artistic form and emphasizing these historical fostering artistic values and their cultural importance.
