The sculpture-installation “Moonwalk” consists of two elements: a fragment of a heavy, firmly standing iron leg
on the ground and the drawing that complements missing part of the composition of a walking person. The
drawing consists of a multiple small magnets that are sprinkled with metal shavings, which become
magnetized and create an image of cosmic, invisible energy. “Moonwalk” is a dance step, but also, literally –
walking on the surface of the moon. The composition reveals the contrast between the earth’s gravity (heavy
foot) sticking to the surface and the floating and light gravity of the moon, represented by the drawing. So,
being between different gravities kind of takes us to that intermediate version of gravity that creates a
possibility to perform the dance step “Moonwalk”.
