Brigita Krasauskaite is a multi-disciplinary artist, curator, art business advisor, and certified USPAP appraiser. She created Foreign Territory Inc. to bring the work of young, innovative artists to greater public awareness and reinvigorate established artists’ work with a fresh curatorial eye in new and occupied environments and spaces.
Clients include the Sasson Soffer Foundation, Sticky Monger, Eduardo Kobra, Tony Sjoman, Louise Reiner, Rosalind Brenner, and Seek One Art. She served as a trustee of the Francis Newton Souza Foundation to oversee the Souza catalogue raisonné. She worked with administrators of his estate to make equitable distributions of several thousand works to the beneficiaries. She has curated and prepared single-owner collections for global auction houses, including the historic Souza estate sale by Christie’s in London in 2010. Most recently, after seeing a sculpture by Matias Di Carlo at the Volta Art Fair during Art Basel, she worked with Wadström Tönnheim Gallery to arrange donations and logistics for the transfer of the sculpture “Gravity Matters” to the Museum “Europos Parkas” in Lithuania, where it was unveiled in the summer of 2023.
She co-founded Dandelion Rugs in 2014 to promote artisan rug makers and to create her designs with traditional rug weavers in India and Afghanistan. Her monumental rug Stand is in private collection.
