Kaunas Photography Gallery was opened in 1979 on the initiative of the Lithuanian Union of Photographers. The exhibition space was completely renovated in 2010. The Gallery’s activities – exhibitions, residencies and publishing – explore the very boundaries of photography between traditional and conceptual expression. Over the years, the gallery has become an important institution in the regional photographic field Kaunas Photography Gallery continues its long tradition of publishing and now focuses not only on the simple presentation of work, but also continues to explore photography through individual perception. The Gallery’s published albums are presented at major book fairs in Lithuania and abroad.
